DENTAL TECHNICIAN
A dental technician is there to provide help, advice and support throughout the process of having your dentures (or false teeth) fitted. They will guide you through every step of the way, and can be a point of call if you ever have any issues with your dentures – so you can feel comfortable when wearing them and, more importantly, concentrate on being yourself.
From the moment of your first consultation to your check-ups, your dental technician will help to ensure the fitting and regular up-keep of your dentures goes as smoothly as possible. Whether you are having a partial or complete denture, your dental technician can support you in your journey to getting dentures.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS ARE EVERYTHING
The first step towards getting your dentures will be speaking with your dental technician about the options available to you. As there are a variety of different materials, colours and denture types that can be used to replace any of your missing teeth, your dental technician will be able to advise you on the ones most suitable for your lifestyle. Next they will take moulds and impressions of your gums, mouth and teeth, and offer you support in choosing the ideal shade and colourings, helping to provide you with detail on the next steps in creating your new dentures.
FITTING THE DENTURES
The next step in getting your new smile is having your dentures fitted – something your dental technician will be able to help with. As well as ensuring they fit well in your mouth, the technician will also offer you tips and advice on getting used to wearing them. For many people, adapting to dentures takes no time at all but for some, the bedding-in process may take a little longer. Your dental technician can answer any questions you may have, or offer advice on how you can become more accustomed to wearing your dentures.
ORAL HEALTH EXAMINATIONS
Your dental technician will be able to advise you on the best way to keep your mouth feeling fresh to keep you feeling confident. As well as undertaking check-ups to make sure your mouth is healthy, they can also offer advice on using cleaning products. A denture cleanser tablet from Polident - which can kill up to 99.9% of odour-casusing bacteria* - will give your dentures a deep clean. Your dental technician may also suggest other daily cleaning routines, to allow you to get the most out of your dentures.
To help you naturally adapt to your new dentures, your dental technician can help support you so you can get back to being yourself.
